Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some questions and answers that we thought would be helpful prior to visiting our site!

Is Cedar Glen shared by multiple groups and/or people at the same time?

This certainly depends on the time of the year but it is common to have multiple groups and individual programs running at Cedar Glen at one time. We do our best to ensure that each booking has dedicated space in our lodges, dining hall, program areas, campsite, firepits, etc. It is important to be aware that there are plenty of shared spaces across site (ie. outdoor volleyball courts) that are available for all our guests to access and are not privately reserved.

Are there staff available onsite in the event of an emergency?

Throughout your visit, there will be staff available to assist should you have any issues, questions or if there is an emergency. If you are staying overnight, there will also be a staff member onsite to assist you, if necessary. Upon arrival, you will be provided with our on-call phone number, as well details on how to reach our staff should you need anything. You can find this number posted in plenty of places across site, so it will be easily accessible to you.

In the event of an emergency, where is the nearest hospital?

EMS paramedic services are located minutes away in the nearby towns of Nobleton, Schomberg and King City. The closest hospitals are:

Etobicoke General Hospital (24 km)

101 Humber College Boulevard, Etobicoke, ON M9V 1R8

Southlake Regional Health Centre (37 km)

596 Davis Drive, Newmarket, ON L3Y 2P9

Brampton Civic Hospital (23 km)

2100 Bovaird Dr E, Brampton, ON L6R 3J7

Is alcohol permitted onsite?

Cedar Glen is not a licensed facility and therefore, alcohol is not permitted to be consumed onsite - this includes campsite, cabin and cottage rentals. Please contact us if you have questions or require additional details

Can you accommodate visitors with accessibility needs?

Please contact us to discuss any specific needs that your participants or family members may have.

Can you smoke tobacco onsite? What about cannabis?

Tobacco smoking is permitted in designated areas onsite. On arrival, a Cedar Glen staff member will let you know where the designated smoking areas are. Cannabis smoking is not permitted at YMCA Cedar Glen, unless proof of prescription is provided.

Can I bring my pet with me?

Unfortunately, at this time, pets are not permitted at Camp Pine Crest, unless they are an identified service animal.

Who can I contact if I have more questions?

If you need more information or require clarification, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at: cedarglen@ymcagta.org or 905-859-9622
