It's never too late to start building a healthy lifestyle. The YMCA has such a wide variety of senior-friendly group fitness programs, you can try something new every day of the week. Today's featured class is Yoga at the Oshawa Y.
What will I learn?
Yoga enriches your spirit, mind, and body. You'll learn basic breathing techniques, postures, and movements that increase flexibility, release tension, and encourage body awareness. These poses are simple enough to be safe and do-able, even for total beginners.
How will my needs be met?
At the YMCA, one of our Core Values is inclusiveness, which is why we provide programs that welcome and benefit people of all ages. All of our classes are guided by certified fitness instructors who have been carefully trained to modify exercises according to your needs. Our staff members and volunteers can develop alternative postures that will allow you to build up the strength and flexibility needed to master more challenging poses.
