Calling GTA youth: Show your talent at Rep Your Region 2017

The YMCA of Greater Toronto is pleased to announce the latest edition of its annual Rep Your Region event, which showcases youth talent.
For five years, the YMCA has been offering this amazing experience to youth, as a way of sharing their passion for performance with our communities. Previous participants have included spoken-word artists, individual and group vocalists, musicians, dancers, and acrobats, over a broad range of styles. Youth as young as 11 years of age have participated, and all participants have shone with the support of their families, friends, and the larger YMCA community.
“Rep Your Region is an incredible show to engage talented young people. The event provides a platform for new and experienced youthful talent to showcase their passions,” shared Stephanie Ruston, a YMCA staff member who has dedicated her time in the planning of four out of the five annual Rep Your Region events.
“I met such amazing people, from the fellow performers, to the volunteers and event organizers, to the judges and the audience,” says Edna Bovas, our 2016 winner. “It was a wonderfully supportive and positive space, filled to the brim with good vibes.”
Auditions for this year’s Rep Your Region event will be taking place next month in Scarborough, Richmond Hill, and Brampton. These are open to performers up to 29 years of age and require no audition fee. Call today to register at (416) 609-9622 x30072 or email us at RepYourRegion@ymcagta.org.
At our June 2017 finale, three talented winners will be awarded with one of three grand prizes: a professional photo shoot; a high-quality studio demo; or a professional video shoot.
