Jays Care Foundation hits a home run for the community
Jays Care Foundation was created to create “a level playing field where all Canadian children and youth have opportunities to thrive and succeed.” One of the ways they do this is through Jays Care Foundation's Rookie League program, which enables over 150 children and youth to learn the sport of baseball while developing important life skills such as teamwork and co-operation at YMCA locations across the GTA.
Earlier this year, Jays Care Foundation Executive Director Robert Witchel announced a gift of $600,000 to support YMCA Rookie league Programming as well as Youth Zones located in several centres, including the new Cooper Koo Family Cherry Street YMCA. Programs and spaces like these create the opportunity for youth and teens to gather, make new friends and be active at the YMCA.
The YMCA’s efforts to make a difference in the communities we are a part of would not be possible without partners like Jays Care Foundation and the Toronto Blue Jays. We wish them the best as they continue to achieve their playoff goals and are proud to support them all the way — LETS GO BLUE JAYS!
