- Turn your commute into a workout
Instead of driving or taking the bus, jog to your lectures. If you usually study at home, try taking a brisk walk to the library instead. You can also rotate study spots throughout the day, so you get your blood flowing each time you pick up and move. The best part of this strategy is that you won’t even feel like you’re detracting from your study time, since the end goal of your walk or run is a place you can work. - Bring the gym to you
Get moving during your 15-minute study breaks. Walk up and down your stairs a few times, do some gentle stretching, or try a few push-ups. Anything that gets you out of your chair and pushes your heart rate up will help you clear your mind and re-focus when you get back to your work. - Make a plan
Figure out what time of day you study best, and schedule your gym time around that. If you’re most productive first thing in the morning, save your workout for the afternoon. And if you get your best work done in the evening, try starting your day with some exercise to help you get energized for the studying you have coming up. Finding a fitness class at a time that works with your study schedule can also help hold you accountable.
Whatever your preferences, remember that your body, brain, and GPA all stand to benefit from even the quickest of workouts. Make time for exercise this semester, and watch your marks soar!
